Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and talented engineer to join our team.

As a part of our development team will be a key player in implementing future releases of Labguru. You’ll need to be passionate about writing code, creating simple software that makes a scientist’s life simpler. You will work with an agile team of developers, on the bleeding edge of web technologies.

The ideal Application Ruby Developer is an innovative technical expert who is fluent in software development and mainly focused on web development of rich Internet applications. Programming in Ruby, JavaScript, HTML/5, AJAX, CSS on Linux / Apache / MySQL / Ruby / MongoDB / Amazon / Etc.

You have the motivation and ability to realize great ideas and work with a team of UX/UI experts to develop and maintain several applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop web applications in Ruby/MySQL/Apache environment.
• Deliver scalable, tested, refactored, high quality code.
• Work closely with product manager to realize features and additions.
• Deliver high quality applications with well-structured code you can be proud of.
• Have passion to web development and new technologies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 1-3 years of Web development (PHP / Ruby / Python) experience is a must have.
• Knowledge in SQL mainly MySQL.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of Linux environments mainly Ubuntu.
• Knowledge of OOP and MVC and other development patterns.
• Solid understanding and programming skills with databases.
• Thorough understanding of HTML/HTML5/CSS, JavaScript.
• Understanding of cross-browser and platform compatibility issue.
• Experience with version control systems: Git / SVN / Mercurial.
• BDD / TDD (advantage).
• Jquery (advantage).
